DOG LICENSING
Pennsylvania Law requires that all dogs over 12 weeks of age have and display a Pennsylvania Dog License issued from the County in which the dog resides. Your pet is your responsibility! License your dog now. It's the law and it may save your pet's life.
BERKS COUNTY DOG LICENSES
2013 Pennsylvania Berks County Dog Licenses are here! You can pick up your license at the HSBC Lindy Scholar Center (Reading) or print off a handy mail-in form here! Pennsylvania law prohibits requiring any additional fee for issuing a dog license by mail. However, we hope that you will consider making a voluntary donation when you send in your application to help cover our additional costs (remember, this service is not tax subsidized at the HSBC) and to help all the animals in need. Thank you!
Remember, most strays in Berks County end up in shelters like the HSBC. These shelters are private, non-profit charities that provide these stray boarding services at a financial loss as part of our charitable mission. Many people are under the impression that the State or County pays for all the costs associated with providing food, housing, and medical care to lost pets. In fact, the government provides NO portion of the costs. We have to pick up 100% of the cost of caring for these homeless pets. We hope you'll be here for us to help us do it!
Don't live in Berks County?
The Humane Society of Berks County is not permitted to issue licenses to residents outside Berks County. If you are a Mongomery or Chester County resident, you can find license information at the following websites: www.montcopa.org and www.chesco.org/dog.
